(some) Kitchen Cabinets

The biggest thing I've learned about this organizational thing is that it's never "complete". It is a growing, changing, evolving thing unto itself. it will always need to be tweaked. It will always need to be reorganized. It will always need to be reworked into my everyday life. This is true because I don't live in a museum and I have too many short people and furry friends to expect it to remain 'perfect' longer than 30 seconds. That said, I attempted to 'perfect' some kitchen cabinets today!
I started this project on a whim. So, of course, I don't have true 'before' pix. I have "a few minutes in" pix when I thought, "Oh Crap! I need to take pix for my blog!".
This is the corner cabinet in my kitchen. It's always been sort of lost space. I had tea, some random drink mixes and platters in it. I think the ice cream maker might be on the top shelf. I hated this cabinet. I couldn't find anything in it. It was such a poor use of storage. So, I changed it!
Before:
It's not so bad in this picture. But, see that bottom shelf? It really looked like this:

A bunch of tea and straws. And, I think there's some fish tank stuff (the fish died in June!). And tylenol for J. Oh and I had some glass measuring cups in here. I think those were removed before I thought to grab the camera.
Well the new plan was to put all the measuring cups on the bottom shelf. So I did that. They were here before (this drawer is getting a makeover soon!):

And then there was nothing on the shelf because all the measuring cups fit nicely into a rubbermaid container. But then I remembered the lazy suzanne cabinet underneath.

I'm embarrassed by the number of plastic water cups and travel coffee mugs! We don't use 90% of these. So, I bagged/boxed them up for donation. Then I added what was left to the shelf with measuring cups. There's still a TON of room on this shelf!

So now the lazy suzanne on the bottom looks more like this:

I put J's plates/bowls/silverware here. He thought it was pretty cool to open the cabinet up and find all of his stuff in there! It used to be on the bottom shelf in the pantry but I want to use that for our craft stuff that we do in the kitchen. and play doh. Apparently the play doh is taking over the bottom of the pantry -- but that's a whole different post!
Oh, and all that tea? It's pretty now too!
